Daymi shares, “What inspires me most about becoming an oncology social worker is having the privilege to witness the resilience of clients facing cancer and their growth through the emotional support we provide. In addition to patients with cancer, we work with caregivers who provide a vital role in their cancer journey. It feels great to offer them support to navigate the challenges of their loved one’s illness. Working for a non profit organization like CancerCare I am able to support people from all backgrounds - to advocate for access to resources, assist in reducing barriers and help individuals feel supported during the uncertainty.
