CancerCare® Receives $700,000 Grant from The New York Community Trust

NEW YORK (February 14, 2018) – CancerCare®, the leading national nonprofit providing free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer, recently received a $700,000 grant from The New York Community Trust to provide financial assistance to low-income New York City residents and their families who are facing cancer.

“CancerCare is grateful for the continued support of The New York Community Trust, which enables our organization to better meet the needs of New Yorkers affected by cancer,” said CancerCare CEO, Patricia J. Goldsmith. “These funds provide a significant source of support for local families who are coping with the enormous financial and emotional challenges that accompany a cancer diagnosis.”

The New York Community Trust, one of the country’s largest community foundations, supports charities in the New York metropolitan area. Since 2000, the New York Community Trust has donated over $11 million in support of CancerCare’s mission.
