CancerCare® Welcomes Joanne Vanak, MSN, BSN, to Board of Trustees
CancerCare, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free support services to anyone affected by cancer, is pleased to welcome new board member Joanne Vanak, MSN, BSN, to their Board of Trustees.
Ms. Vanak recently retired after a 22-year career with Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a Johnson and Johnson (JNJ) family company. She has over 44 years of oncology nursing experience with a focus on research, treatment modalities, patient care and education, and spent the last years of her career leading a team of nurses and pharmacists within the Oncology Early Development Research and Development department.

Prior to entering the oncology space, Ms. Vanak worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for over 25 years at a number of institutions. She is known to be exceptionally dedicated to the quality of care for cancer patients, caregivers and families, as well as to the growth and expansion of oncology nursing. She is a member of Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO) and the SHAPE Partner organization, as well as an active member of the Coast Guard Spouse Club and Fort Myer-Henderson Hall Catholic Community.
