CancerCare® Celebrates 35th Annual Festival of Hope Gala to Raise Funds for People Impacted by Cancer
2023 Gala Raised Over $150,000 to Support its Free Emotional & Practical Support Services
CancerCare® is excited to share that its 35th Annual Festival of Hope Gala, held on May 17, 2023, at the Park Savoy, in Florham Park, NJ, raised over $150,000 to support individuals affected by cancer, along with their families. A portion of the donations will directly support the Healing Hearts Bereavement Camp, a free weekend retreat for families grieving the loss of a loved one to cancer. CancerCare is a national nonprofit organization that provides free, professional services to anyone affected by cancer, with a regional office located in Paramus, NJ.
CancerCare was proud to present its 2023 Corporate Achievement Award to Daiichi Sankyo, a global pharmaceutical company dedicated to developing novel therapies and educational resources for people with cancer, as well as other diseases with high unmet medical needs. The award was accepted by Gissoo DeCotiis, Daiichi Sankyo’s Global Head of Advocacy & Strategic Relations.
“We are incredibly grateful for the generous support of Daiichi Sankyo and all of our sponsors and donors who made this year’s Festival of Hope Gala a tremendous success. With their help, CancerCare will continue to provide vital services and support to people affected by cancer across the country,” said Kathy Nugent, LCSW, CancerCare's Senior Director of Regional Programs.
“The Daiichi Sankyo team is incredibly proud and humbled to accept this award and be part of this important event that brings together people living with cancer and those who support them,” said Gissoo DeCotiis, in her remarks. “CancerCare is an important partner as we have a shared mission to provide professional support services and practical educational information to help all people manage the emotional, financial, familial and personal challenges posed by cancer.”
In addition to Daiichi Sankyo, CancerCare would like to thank its other sponsors, including its Benefactor: Merck; Patron Sponsor: Eisai; and Contributor Sponsors: Bristol Myers Squibb, Deloitte, GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen Oncology, Doron Krakow & the Krakow family, the Morrone family, Pfizer and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
