CancerCare® Announces its 2024 National Gala, Celebrating 80 Years of Providing Help & Hope
Honoring CancerCare's Oncology Social Workers
As it celebrates its 80th anniversary this year, CancerCare®, the leading national nonprofit organization providing free, professional support services to anyone affected by cancer, is excited to announce its 2024 National Gala on Wednesday, April 17, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.
In addition to marking eight decades of providing help and hope to anyone impacted by cancer, this year’s event will also honor the organization’s oncology social workers as the unsung heroes of cancer care.
“We are thrilled to honor our social workers at our national gala,” said CancerCare CEO Christine Verini. “This is a special milestone for CancerCare and we are proud to highlight their tireless compassion, dedication and support for people going through some of life’s most difficult challenges.”
Since its incorporation in 1944, CancerCare has been at the forefront of offering comprehensive emotional and practical cancer support, including counseling, support groups, educational resources, workshops and financial assistance. At this year’s gala and throughout the rest of the year, the organization will commemorate 80 years of providing life-changing support to people impacted by cancer through client testimonials and videos shared by the organization’s social workers.
To mark the occasion, CancerCare invites everyone touched by a cancer diagnosis – patients, caregivers, family members and friends – to join in the celebration by sharing their own stories and experiences with the organization. Be sure to join the conversation and share your story on social media, using the hashtag #CancerCare80.
