CancerCare® Celebrates One Year of myTRIAList: A New Era in Clinical Trial Accessibility

Today marks the first anniversary of the launch of myTRIAList, an innovative resource from CancerCare® and Bluprint Oncology designed to make finding and enrolling in cancer clinical trials more accessible for patients and their loved ones. Since its inception, myTRIAList has empowered thousands of individuals by simplifying the clinical trial search process and breaking down barriers to enrollment.

Launched as a free, easy-to-use website, myTRIAList.org helps cancer patients across the United States locate clinical trials near them, providing access to vital treatment options that may not be available through their local health care setting. As the need for more diverse clinical trial enrollment remains a pressing issue, myTRIAList has made significant strides in addressing this challenge.

Over the past year, myTRIAList has continued its mission to improve access to clinical trials by offering a user-friendly, plain-language platform that helps patients explore trial options that align with their specific cancer diagnosis, geographic location and treatment goals, in addition to highlighting patients’ firsthand experiences, and the knowledge of oncology social workers and medical professionals.

“Clinical trials are a key part of advancing cancer treatments, but historically, only about 5% of patients enroll,” said Christine Verini, RPh, CancerCare's Chief Executive Officer. “We’re proud that myTRIAList has helped to demystify the clinical trial process. By simplifying the language and focusing on making the information accessible, we are empowering more patients to make informed decisions about their care options.”

Clinical trials are critical in advancing cancer research, but they are often underutilized due to geographical proximity, health care disparities and misinformation. Through myTRIAList, CancerCare has worked to decrease some of these barriers, ultimately helping more patients discover trials that could lead to better treatment options for them and future cancer patients.

myTRIAList is a resource website and clinical trial finder that aims to empower those living with cancer and their loved ones with the tools necessary to navigate the challenges of cancer by connecting them to clinical trial options. To do this, myTRIAList:
• Educates on how people can consider and participate in a clinical trial
• Shares the experiences of real patients that remove barriers to participating in a clinical trial
• Provides information that helps the user to find trials available near them and to engage with a clinical trial team for more info on how to enroll
• If interested, a navigator that can help patients understand the importance of a clinical trial and navigate the site by calling CancerCare’s Hopeline at 800‑813‑HOPE (4673).

As CancerCare and Bluprint reflect on the first year of myTRIAList, both organizations reaffirm their commitment to creating a future where clinical trial enrollment is simple, transparent, and accessible for all cancer patients.
