CancerCare Featured on CBS Nightly News Program About "The Cost of Cancer"
New York, March 29, 2007--Fighting cancer is costly: With surgery, chemotherapy and the increasing price of cancer-fighting drugs, Americans will spend $78 billion this year, according to a CBS News report on "The Cost of Fighting Cancer." CancerCare's Director of Patient Assistance Programs** Jane Levy** was featured on the program, which aired on March 28. Last year, CancerCare provided limited financial assistance grants totaling $4.7 million to more than16,000 people with cancer and their families.
