CancerCare CEO, Helen H. Miller, to Join National Philanthropic Trust Board of Directors
New York, NY, March 20, 2011--CancerCare, a national nonprofit that provides free, professional services for anyone affected by cancer, is pleased to announce that the organization's CEO, Helen H. Miller, LCSW, will join the board of directors of the National Philanthropic Trust. The National Philanthropic Trust helps donors with the investment and administration of their philanthropic dollars and allows them to recommend support to charities and causes that are important to them.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the board of directors of the National Philanthropic Trust," said Miller. "They are an outstanding organization, and I'm very much looking forward to working with my fellow board members to offer our guidance and strategic oversight."
Miller assumed her role at CancerCare in January 2010. She previously served for five years as Executive Director of The Bachmann-Strauss Dystonia & Parkinson Foundation.
CancerCare Chief Development Officer Michael Divers vouched for Miller's leadership expertise, saying, "Helen's extensive experience in nonprofit management will be an invaluable asset for the National Philanthropic Trust and its board of directors."
Miller has served on numerous boards of nonprofits focusing on health, education, and historic preservation. She is currently a Member of the Board of Health Advocates for Older People in New York.
