CancerCare Welcomes Marcia A. Kean to Board of Trustees
CancerCare is pleased to welcome Marcia A. Kean, Chairman of Strategic Initiatives of Feinstein Kean Healthcare, to its Board of Trustees.
Kean brings more than 35 years of biomedical and information technology industry experience to her appointment with CancerCare, encompassing business operating experience in the private and public sectors. She led the communications activities on behalf of the National Cancer Institute’s first-generation data exchange and bioinformatics program for seven years, and has served as an advisor to the Personalized Medicine Coalition since its inception.
“It has been a pleasure and an honor for me to work with Marcia over the last several years. Her skills, insights and passion will be a wonderful addition to the CancerCare Board of Trustees,” said Patricia J. Goldsmith, CEO of CancerCare.
Kean built Feinstein Kean Healthcare’s unique national role in the life sciences and healthcare sectors since the firm’s inception almost three decades ago, overseeing its evolution into a leading strategy and communications firm dedicated to advancing innovation. She served as the Chief Executive Officer of the firm from 2002 to 2011, and became Chairman in 2011.
“We are thrilled to welcome Marcia to our Board of Trustees, and will benefit greatly from the expertise and vision she has gained from leading a range of innovative projects,” said Michael Parisi, President of the CancerCare Board of Trustees. “We look forward to collaborating with her to elevate CancerCare’s role as a leading national nonprofit organization serving people affected by cancer.”
Kean is joined by 28 fellow Board Members who provide fiscal and strategic oversight of the national nonprofit. Their leadership plays a pivotal role in allowing the organization to directly serve more than 170,000 people affected by cancer across the nation each year.
