CancerCare’s Vilmarie Rodriguez, Director of Patient Assistance Programs, Receives Emerald Leader Award of the National Association of Social Workers
CancerCare is thrilled to announce Vilmarie Rodriguez, Director of Patient Assistance Programs, LCSW, is the recipient of the Emerald Leader Award of the National Association of Social Workers – New York City Chapter (NASW-NYC).
The NASW National Awards recognizes leaders in the profession and communities who embody social work values and ethics. This award is being presented to leaders of the social work profession in recognition of their visionary and pioneering work.
“This award is such an honor to receive,” said Vilmarie Rodriguez. “My work at CancerCare could not be more important to me, and it’s a wonderful feeling to be recognized for this work. I look forward to continuing to help the oncology community.”
Vilmarie is the Director of Patient Assistance Programs and a member of both the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). She presented at poster at the AOSW conference in 2004 entitled, “Helping Hispanic Patients Find Their Voice” and was a Hispanic/Latino Advisory Board Member for the LIVESTRONG Foundation from 2007-2012.
