CancerCare wishes to express our immense gratitude to the Avon Foundation for Women for awarding our organization a $650,000 grant to support the AvonCares program, which has provided direct financial assistance to more than 80,000 low-income breast cancer patients in 50 states since 2000. The grant was presented at AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer, which concluded this past weekend in New York.

Partnership with Caribou Coffee Raises More than $200,000 in Support of CancerCare’s Free Services
For the third year, Caribou Coffee offered its Caribou Coffee Amy’s Blend collection of coffee, tea and merchandise from September 27 through October 31, donating 10% of all retail coffeehouse proceeds to CancerCare. The collection was named in honor of the company’s original roastmaster, Amy Erickson.

For the third year, Caribou Coffee has partnered with CancerCare for a month-long promotion during which 10 percent of all Amy’s Blend Collection purchases benefit CancerCare’s free support services. The Amy’s Blend promotion honors Caribou Coffee’s original roastmaster Amy Erickson who lost her battle with cancer in 1995.

O’Neill’s Irish Pub Golf Outing Raises $175,000 for People Affected by Cancer
Ollie O’Neill moved to the states from Dublin in 1995 and pursued his dream of bringing the Irish pub culture to his new hometown, Norwalk, CT. He opened O’Neill’s Irish Pub and Restaurant on St. Patrick’s Day of 1999. Not only did he want to provide authentic food and drinks to the community, Ollie also wanted make a lasting difference in the lives of people affected by cancer.
AVONCares Provides Help for Women Facing Cancer
Cancer treatment not only includes medical expenses, but also practical costs such as transportation to and from treatment, home care and child care. Thanks to AVONCares, a partnership between CancerCare and the Avon Foundation for Women, financial assistance and other services have been made available to underserved women facing cancer in all 50 states.
Grant from The Horizon Foundation For New Jersey will Bring Cancer Services to Underserved Populations
CancerCare has received a $35,000 grant from The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey. The grant will fund CancerCare’s project, Early Detection and Education Program for Underserved Individuals in Newark.
CancerCare Celebrates 70 Years and Raises Over One Million Dollars at Anniversary Gala
Thanks to our dedicated supporters and advocates, CancerCare raised more than one million dollars for anyone affected by cancer at the 70th Anniversary Celebration Gala. Over 500 attendees gathered at Cipriani in New York City on April 23 to honor the organization as it moves into its eighth decade of service.
